COGNITIVE DYSFUNCTION, dementia, TREATMENT in ANIMALS

Having just returned from the Annual International TCVM Conference, I would like to share my knowledge on COGNITIVE DYSFUNCTION , “CDS”, in animals. CDS is recognized as an increasing disorder in our aging pet population. The treatment, integrating both Western and Eastern modalities, is aimed at reducing the clinical signs and improving the quality of life. The earliest clinical sign can be ANXIETY. Other clinical signs include: disorientation, iteractive changes, sleep/wake disturbances, house soiliing, and activity changes. Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, including acupuncture and herbal therapies, can greatly improve cognitive functions. A better outcome results with EARLY DIAGNOSIS and TREATMENT. TCVM patterns that lead to CDS include Phlegm Fire Misting the Mind, Qi-Blood Stagnation /Stasis, Liver Qi Stagnation, Heart and Spleen Qi Deficiency and Heart Yin and Blood Deficiency. With so many patterns, it is necessary for me to exam your pet utilizing the skills I have acquired as a certified Traditional Chinese Veterinary Practitioner and Fellow status of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. Sooooooooooooooooooo…call me for an appointment (805)660-4669!
